Nats sweep the doubleheader and that will affect the draft order!

Since the Nats were 19-31 they have gone 6-3 for some of their best baseball of the season. Where was this in August? Oh well, it is nice to see the effort, and Anibal Sanchez pitched a solid game en route to a 5-3 win and a sweep of this doubleheader from the Mets. The Nats beat two former Cy Youngs in this doubleheader sweep beating both Jacob deGrom and Rick Porcello.

“Well that was a good birthday,” manager Dave Martinez said on the doubleheader sweep on his 56th birthday.

The offensive star today was Trea Turner who hit his 11th home run of the season, and remember that he has 12 stolen bases. If Turner kept that pace for a 162-game full season, he would have 30 home runs and 32 stolen bases which puts Trea in rare company with 30/30 Club players. He is one of four players in the 10/10 club in the actual 60-game season.

“I think lead-off I put the most pressure on the other team with my speed,” Turner said about batting in lead-off and the two-spot in the lineup.”We have good players in this clubhouse, and we will be alright.”

Tomorrow is the last game of the season, and Austin Voth gets that start.
