Bold Predictions

Time to offer some bold predictions for the upcoming Nationals season. To get the process started we’ve surveyed a few of the long-time members of the TalkNats community to weigh in with their number 1 bold prediction for the upcoming season. We’ve listed these in alphabetical order by their Disqus names:

  • Allstars_S2 : Eric Thames and Juan Soto will tie for team lead with 22 Home Runs.
  • Doc: Starlin Castro is 2nd in team HRs.
  • DonH: Howie Kendrick hits .400.
  • Ghost of Steve M.: Luis Garcia will debut at some point this season.
  • JD: WS Nats over Yankees
  • knibley: The Philadelphia Phillies win the NL East in the short sprint, then get swept in the NLDS by the Wild Card winner, the Washington Nationals.
  • Laura Peebles: Chip Hale will do something at third base that will make us wish for Sendley.
  • Legnatsfan: Nats will announce a multi-year extension for Davey and Rizzo on Opening Day.
  • KnoxvilleNat: Stephen Strasburg wins the Cy Young award for the National League.
  • MrsB: Tanner Rainey becomes full time closer before the end of the season.
  • rayvil01: Strasburg wins the Cy Young.
  • Section222 Game7!: Eric The River Thames leads the league in home runs and Robles hits higher in the order than Castro by Game No. 25.
  • SJM308: Victor Robles is the MVP of the World Series – which the Nationals win.
  • SoMdNatsFan1: We repeat and Juan Soto is WS MVP.
  • Warning Track Power: Juan Soto will have two home runs onto the concourse at Nats Park.

Since rules are made to be broken, we’ve decided to make an exception and accept some bold predictions from two member of the Jr. Nats Club.

  • Alex (@alexnatsblog and is Drazthegr8’s son): Turner steals more bases than last year in a lot less games.
  • Preston (his Dad, @coach_campbell is a frequent commenter on the TalkNats twitter): Carter Kieboom wins rookie of the year.

Preston and Alex were the stars of the Jr Nats Kids Club commercial last year (Preston is the one with the giant pencil). And Preston was Jr PA announcer once last year also.

Personally, I like how these kids think!!!!!!! And kids becoming fans ensures that we will have baseball for a long time in DC!

So now it is your turn. Offer your own bold predictions. If you have multiple bold predictions make each one a separate comment so others can weigh in on that specific one.
