Welcoming Jordan Zimmermann back to the Nats’ spring training camp brings back great memories of one of the greatest players in Washington Nationals history, but this visit by JZim is just a friendly visit. He will be on the mound for his Detroit Tigers today at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches as the opposing pitcher. The Nats will have Erick Fedde on the mound for a start against the Motown crushers who lead all of baseball in Spring Training home runs by a large margin with 30 team dingers in just fifteen games.

This game is the halfway point of Spring Training and is severance day if teams choose to part ways with players on non-guaranteed contracts. With this point in the preseason, we also begin to see the starting position players expanding their time in each game. First cuts are also usually about this time when some players are sent back to the minor league side of the camp.

Below are stats on some of the bullpen arms who have excelled so far in camp. Manager Dave Martinez has tried to get some of these relievers into games earlier to see how they fare against starters from the other team.
