Game #2 NLDS Yes, the Nats are in the NLDS; It is a “must win” game!

The Washington Nationals are still very much alive in this 2019 NLDS series contrary to what many say. But tonight is basically a must win game because few have survived being down 0-2 in a five game series. If the Nats can deliver a win, all of a sudden they will be sitting pretty with a 1-1 record, and home field advantage. Five hours before the first pitch yesterday, Nats manager Dave Martinez named Stephen Strasburg as his starter for today. Stras was a very efficient 11.33-pitches per inning in his 3-inning scoreless relief appearance, and he is back on the mound on two days rest. Maybe this is risky, but at this point, you might as well go with your best.

The Dodgers have the lefty Clayton Kershaw going, and his postseason record is not too good. His 4.32 career postseason ERA in 30 games also includes a 5.84 ERA against the Nats in the 2016 NLDS. For Stephen Strasburg, he has been an absolute ace in the postseason with a 0.41 ERA, and if Strasburg can continue his dominance in this game while pitching two days ago, this will add to his lore. Also expect all hands on deck as Max Scherzer and Anibal Sanchez could both appear in this game as we were told by a source.

After the Nationals did not score any runs yesterday, does Davey Martinez shake up the Nats lineup? This will be be something to keep an eye on as Ryan Zimmerman has hit Kershaw well in his career as has Michael Taylor albeit small sample sizes.
