Back at Wrigley Field, the “L” flag is flying at the Cubs’ home stadium. Here in Washington, D.C. at Nationals Park, the rain is flying. Major League Baseball and the commissioner’s office have jurisdiction over whether or not this game will be played due to the rainy weather, and here we are in another rain delay. So far, the Nationals have won 2-of-the-3 games so far in this 4-game series which has tied the season series at 3-t0-3.

The pitching probables match-up Erick Fedde for the Nats and lefty Mike Montgomery for the Cubs. While Nats’ manager Dave Martinez is playing three bench players, the Cubs are going with their “A” team which is no surprise for a team with postseason aspirations. The Nats have out-scored the Cubs in this season series by a 9-run margin (34-25). In fact, the Nationals led at some point in every game this season against the Cubs showing how well the Cubs former bench coach, Davey Martinez, knows about his former team.

As we wait for MLB to make the decision on the fate of this game, we are forced to wait through another few hours of checking on game updates.
