Game #57 Strasburg is on the mound to start a new streak!

The Nationals have done a good job at shaking off a loss like they did on May 23rd when they lost by 2-runs then went on a 6-game winning streak. Yesterday was just one of those 2-run losses that teams endure in a long season. Tonight, the Nationals have Stephen Strasburg on the mound, and he has pitched well at SunTrust Park to a 2-and-0 record with a 2.45 ERA and a .204 batting average.

As the calendar turns to June, the Nationals would also be pleased to replicate what they did in the month of May with a 19-7-1  record.  That’s a scorching .731 winning percentage. Today is a new day, and while the Nationals wake up to being a ½ game off first place, they do have sole possession of the first wild card spot which is not what the Nationals ultimately want — however it shows they have one of the best records in the National League. In fact the Nationals would be well in front of the NL West if they were in that division. Only the Brewers and Braves have a better record in the NL.

For the Braves today, they have righty Mike Foltynewicz pitching and he is coming off of his most taxing start of the season when he threw 113 pitches five days ago. Lefties hit Foltynewicz better than righties so expect Matt Adams to start tonight. It would also be nice if Brian Goodwin and Daniel Murphy were back as they hit Folty real well.

We will wait and see if there will be roster moves this afternoon.
