NLDS times are set for Games 1 and 2 for Nationals/Dodgers

The times are set for the NLDS games #1 and #2, and the Nationals are requesting that all fans come dressed in red.  Game #1 has first pitch scheduled for 5:38PM and Game #2 has first pitch scheduled for 4:08PM. Did MLB consider the weather patterns when they set Saturday’s game for the late afternoon?

In other important news, Valerie Camillo, Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer, has confirmed that the towels handed out during Game 1 of the NLDS will not be white surrender towels like they did in 2014.

Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman and Gio Gonzalez are among the Nationals who have a chance at redemption for their 2016 seasons if they can come through for the Nats in a big way in the post-season.

“Nothing matters for the season anymore,” Bryce Harper said. “That’s how it is. That’s how the postseason works. It doesn’t matter what you did during the season, what your numbers were or how you did. It doesn’t matter if you had 20 wins or if you had five, or if you hit .220 or hit .350. The postseason is a different animal. It’s a different place. It’s a lot of fun to be a part of and I’m looking forward to getting back into it.”

Game 1 and 2 will be televised on Fox Sports1. Game 3 will be on MLB Network on Monday with no black-out and will be available to most satellite and cable/FIOS providers even if MLB Network is not in your package. MLB Network will offer continuous coverage even during commerical breaks as well as their Pitchtrack which will be visible during every pitch, and they will be using a technology they call Shiftrax which will be used for defensive alignments.

MLB Network will exclusively televise Game Three of the NLDS between the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, October 10, live from Dodger Stadium and will be available nationwide and in each club’s home TV territory exclusively on MLB Network. 2016 marks the fifth consecutive year that MLB Network will exclusively televise two Division Series games. MLB Network’s two game telecasts will be presented by Geico.
In each telecast, MLB Network will provide continuous game coverage during pitching changes by using a split-screen format in commercial breaks, as it has done on MLB Network Showcase throughout the 2016 regular season. MLB Network also will use for the first time Pitchcast tracking of every pitch as part of its use of Statcast powered by Amazon Web Services, MLB Advanced Media’s revolutionary tracking technology, and employ its innovative real-time defensive alignment graphic, Shift Trax, to provide live and in-depth metrics about every play. MLB Network’s NLDS game telecasts will also feature enhanced audio at each base, plus Phantom and X-Mo camera technology to provide dramatically increased resolution and clarity to replays.
