One bad pitch and a lack of offense equals a loss: Postgame

To sum up the game is to look back at the 3rd inning when the Phillies scored 4 runs. With 2 outs and 2 strikes on Ryan Howard, A.J. Cole left a ball over the plate that Ryan Howard did not miss for a three-run home run to give the Phillies all the runs they needed.

The Nationals could not figure out rookie Alec Asher, and it was a combination of poor at-bats and bad luck and some very good defense by the Phillies. Two of the Nats five hits came off of the Nats bench as Brian Goodwin ripped a double into the gap, and Stephen Drew had a single in the 8th and later scored the Nats lone run in the 4-1 loss.
