The ball did not bounce the right way. Get ’em tomorrow: Postgame

Tanner Roark gave up 2 runs tonight, and Robert Gselleman gave up 1 run. That was the identical line to last night’s game with the same results as the ace lost and the rookie won.

The Nationals had their chances many times tonight to score as they went 0-7 with runners in scoring position. Danny Espinosa left five men on base as he struck out four times. Trea Turner had perhaps his worst night as a Washington National as he went 0-5 as BABIP turned on him—it happens.

One of the highlights of the night was watching Sean Burnett debut in a LOOGY spot for the Nationals and got his man to line-out.

Ryan Zimmerman had two hits tonight as did Jayson Werth. Bryce Harper was 1-2 with 2 walks, and the Nationals had seven hits tonight.

Nats lost 3-1 and their lead in the NL East is back to 9.5 games with 27 games remaining in the regular season.
