Game #152 Scherzer in a Cy worthy game: Game Thread

This game is not “must win” however with a four-game losing streak the Nationals want this one and Max Scherzer is trying to show the Cy Young voters that he deserves the honor which would put him in rare company of pitcher’s who have won the Cy in both the American League and Nationals League.

The Nationals will have 10 games remaining in the regular season after the completion of this game. Think about that for a moment. Twenty teams will not have another game in 2016 after these next 10 games are played.

The Marlins pitch right-handed Tom Koehler in this one, and he has a 9-11 record and a 3.96 ERA this season. Bryce Harper has 6 career home runs against Koehler, and Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth both have 2 home runs each against Koehler.

Here are the Nats stats against Koehler:

Our own Draz is in the event’s business, and with his connections is putting together a TalkNats & Friends trip for next year with/without transportation to see the Nats in CitiField and everyone can meet me and our friend JD who lives in New York. Here is a link to gauge interest. It sounds like if there is enough interest there could be several buses of which one could be a family friendly bus for those who want to bring kids, grandchildren, neighbors, etc.  The price point should be very affordable and Draz is doing this at his cost while saving money in volume group discounts!  Thanks Draz!

Also, the TalkNats ownership continues to do a great job where we are now on many public relation lists and we wanted to pass along to all the Vin Scully fans this:
