Game #89 Max Scherzer is an All-Star and is on the NY stage: Game Thread

The All-Star break officially starts tomorrow after the conclusion of Sunday’s games, and in the here and now, today is a very important game for the Washington Nationals.

For the newly minted All-Star, Max Scherzer, he starts tonight on the big New York City stage against the Mets and Logan Verrett in this very important game. Scherzer must continue his dominance, and control this game as he is capable of doing.

Verrett is making a spot start in place of Matt Harvey, and Verrett has some mixed results against the Nationals. This four-game series is now knotted at 1-1 right now with the Nationals lead in the NL East at 4.0 games.
